Zorloo introduces "Z:ero", the first fully digital earphones with a built-in Digital-to-Analog Converter (DAC)

The first dully digital earphones that combines high quality construction, built-in Digital-to-Analog Converter (DAC), and a hi-powered amp.

Currently, the audio in a standard mobile device is processed internally and then outputted to a standard 3.5 mm port, but only in analog. Z:ero does not rely on a device to process the audio. Instead, it uses the micro USB port to output pure digital audio using a miniaturized Digital-to-Analog Converter (DAC) and high powered amp that is built into the earphones to provide full listening pleasure when on-the-go

Taking a look at the smartphone market today, one will see a lot of effort being put into all parts of the device, except the audio. Improvements in speed to the processor, display, camera, functions, etc. are highly focused on, but the quality of the audio is typically ignored. Increasing the speaker volume doesn’t count. In order to listen to purely digital audio, an additional HiFi music player, portable high powered amp, USB DAC, etc. is needed.

There are other specialty audio brands out there that have produced USB DAC’s, headphones amplifiers, HiFi music players, etc. and users are happy with the results. However, because the products can become quite pricey, it is still a niche market. This has prevented market expansion as people are not as willing to spend so much to increase their mobile audio device output when on-the-go.

With the creation of the Z:ero digital earphones, Zorloo has found a way to increase the quality of audio while keeping the cost down. That has been their strategy from the beginning. To provide an inexpensive fully digital earphone that’s convenient to use.

The product focus when creating Z:ero was to utilize their professional sound tuning knowledge to provide a fuller and richer listening experience. In the end, they were able to more than double the audio output power whilst keeping it pleasing to the ears.

When compared to other standard earphones, Zorloo can deliver a better product at the same if not lower cost

They’ve partnered up with kseed, a Korean crowd-funding platform as well as registered Indiegogo partners, to promote Z:ero. The product will retail for between $25-$35, but will start its entry into the market via crowd-funding campaign in hopes to garner more interest and provide a more inexpensive option for their backers to test out Z:ero.

Z:ero is currently compatible with the following devices and is expected to have an Apple compatible device by early 2015. Android device compatibility will continue to be expanded in the near future. Samsung (S3/S4/S5/Note2/Note3/Note4/NoteEdge), Sony (Z1, Z2, Z3), LG (G Pro 2/G3), Google Nexus 5 (with Android OS 5). By using "USB Audio Player Pro" or "HF Player" from the Google PlayStore you can enable USB Audio output on devices that do not normally support it.
